Definition

Biological origin: Lactuca sativa L. · family Asteraceae · plant

Source: GBIF species information

Lactuca Sativa Extract/sr-Arabidopsis Thaliana Polypeptide-1 Tri (sh-Polypeptide-47 Phaseolus Vulgaris Polypeptide-1) sh-Polypeptide-47 Octapeptide-22 Tetrapeptide-120 is a single chain recombinant peptide produced recombinantly in Lactuca sativa, where the final product contains proteins from the Lactuca sativa host. The starting gene is synthesized by the fusion of the gene from sr-Arabidopsis Thaliana Polypeptide-1 and three repeats of a sequence of sh-Polypeptide-47 and sr-Phaseolus Vulgaris Polypeptide-1, followed by sh-Polypeptide-47, Octapeptide-22, and Tetrapeptide-120. The fusion peptide contains 250 amino acids which may contain disulfide bonds and/or glycosylation and consists of the proper sequence of the 20 standard amino acids.
