Is it weird for men to carry a parasol? A Japanese forum debates
On Japan's Girls Channel forum, someone wrote (May 2026) that summers keep getting hotter, so they've been urging their husband to use a sun parasol, but he refuses because a parasol feels unmanly. A parasol still doesn't replace sunscreen entirely. The US CDC notes that UV reflects off water, cement, sand and snow, and reaches you on cloudy, cool days too. A parasol cuts a lot of light from above, but not everything bouncing up from pavement or water, so pairing it with sunscreen on the face and neck is the realistic combo.
