Bringing Asian skincare into Argentina by courier: a community guide

On r/CoquetARG, a user shared her method for buying genuine Asian cosmetics from Argentina. Her starting point: local resellers charge far more than these products cost abroad, and even official distributors carry heavy import duties. She explained that some international online shops ship to the country and walked through how the one using the courier system works: an international carrier brings the parcel to customs, then a local courier delivers it to your door. She also described the yearly shipment and per-parcel value caps that, in her experience, apply to that regime.

What the replies added:

  • One person said she spent about 93 US dollars on 10 products, which she said would be impossible at local prices, and was still waiting for the order.

  • Someone with sensitive skin asked what to buy; the poster answered carefully, first praising her for being under a doctor's care, then suggesting light, hydrating textures added on top of the prescribed routine, mixing local pharmacy brands with Asian products.

  • Several asked for a separate favourites post; the poster mentioned brands such as COSRX, Beauty of Joseon, Numbuzin and Anua.

  • She also warned that the sheer number of brands is overwhelming and it's easy to fall for viral products you don't need.

The thread went down well: more than "what to buy", people thanked her for the step-by-step.

Desk note: shipment limits, duty-free allowances and taxes under the courier regime depend on the current rules of Argentina's customs authority (ARCA) and have changed at various points. Before ordering, check the current conditions at the official source, not just in a post, however helpful.

Have you imported skincare by courier? How long did it take, and were you charged anything extra on delivery?
