Oily skin finally behaving now that it is cooler? Many say yes
A short post on theqoo's beauty board: someone with oily skin said summer had been miserable, but now that humidity and temperatures have dropped, their skin has improved. Almost all 15 replies were a version of "same here".
-
Several said pores looked smaller.
-
The most common comment was less sebum and less shine.
-
One person said the little bumps had cleared and their skin felt smooth, and they were simply happy.
-
Everyone agreed that humidity has a huge effect on skin.
-
The one downside: skin at its best ever, but rhinitis making breathing miserable, the other face of the seasonal change.
With hardly any disagreement, it read like the thread oily-skinned people post every time the season turns.
Desk note: The AAD suggests that even oily skin should be washed no more than twice a day and after sweating, without scrubbing, and still moisturised afterwards. It recommends products labelled "oil free" and "non-comedogenic", and blotting papers for shine during the day. Once the air turns dry, a strong summer oil-control routine may be more than your skin needs, so the change of season is a good time to review it.
What did you drop or swap from your summer routine this autumn?
