Cushion or liquid foundation: which one do you reach for?
A short question on theqoo's beauty board drew a steady stream of replies. The poster said liquid foundation clearly lasts longer, but lately they only use cushions because a cushion depends less on how the skin is behaving that day. So which do other people use more?
How the replies went:
-
The most common answer was a single word: "foundation." One person said they don't own a single cushion.
-
Plenty of people live a double life: cushion on normal days because it's quick, liquid foundation for important days. They agreed liquid wins on finish and staying power.
-
Several said that in hot weather, liquid foundation holds up in a different league.
-
Others went the other way: dispensing liquid felt like a chore, so they have used only cushions for about a year.
-
Some bought cushion foundations a few times and never really reached for them; one person said cushions either lift or sink into their face.
-
When someone asked how liquid users touch up, the answers were: it barely needs it, blot the oil with powder, or carry a mini cushion for the nose and mouth area.
Overall, liquid foundation had a slight edge, but convenience keeps a solid group loyal to cushions.
Desk note: If your base doesn't last, try adjusting how much you apply and setting it with powder before you switch products. Cushion puffs pick up oil and dirt quickly, so wash or replace them regularly.
