Korean skincare for oily skin? The brand Japanese answers named most
On the @cosme Q&A board in Japan, someone with oily skin asked: "Do fewer Koreans have oily skin? I want to switch to Korean skincare, but it all seems to be about preventing dryness." The question collected 24 answers before being marked solved.
What the replies said
- About half the answers named numbuzin No.1 (its lightweight toner and serum)
- Other "fresh-feeling" names: manyo Galac Niacin, VT Cica Vital, COSRX pads
- SOME BY MI's AHA·BHA·PHA line, beplain, celimax Noni and Anua Heartleaf also came up
- Some said Korea's dry winters explain the many hydrating products, but oily-skin options are plentiful
- Others felt that, in Japan's humid climate, Japanese products might suit very oily skin better
- And of course, plenty of Koreans have oily skin too
The majority view: it is not "all hydration"; pick the lighter lines and you will find options.
Desk note The American Academy of Dermatology's tips for oily skin include washing up to twice a day and after sweating, choosing oil-free, noncomedogenic products, using a gentle foaming cleanser, and applying moisturizer after cleansing. Oily skin still needs moisturizer.
